WOOD AWARDS
SHORTLIST REVEALED
As lead organisers of the Wood Awards for the fourth consecutive year,
Timber Development UK is proud to unveil this year’s shortlist of buildings,
furniture and objects — each recognised for its innovative use of wood.
T
is a barrel-vaulted extension to a
coroner’s court, a redevelopment of a
historic water mill, a new CLT-framed
social housing terrace and a vibrant
performing arts hub utilising both
reused and engineered timber.
The 10 shortlisted furniture & object
projects include a freestanding
demountable kitchen, a thoughtprovoking collection of handcarved
sculptural vessels and a jetty structure
made from forest thinnings.
The shortlisted projects have been
carefully selected from hundreds of
high quality entries by two expert,
independent juries.
Here, we're taking a look at some of
the shortlisted buildings ahead of the
Awards ceremony on 19 November.
